Hello

My name is Rebecca Washington. I am a caring, compassionate and creative woman, proud Veteran of the Army National Guard, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and Artist.

I founded The Heart Space Counseling out of a deep desire to live—and help others live—more honestly and authentically. The seed was planted during a conversation with a co-worker, when I admitted that my passion for creativity and building community would bring me far more fulfillment than spending my days behind a desk. Although my decade of work in agency settings gave me the privilege of helping others, learning systems, and meeting people in many different phases of their life, I realized my heart wanted to walk alongside people outside of the conventional therapy setting.

 

I needed more time, more depth, more connection, more variety, and less stress.

The Heart Space Counseling was born from this vision, and continues to be shaped by my own journey of grief and healing. After my father’s passing in 2024, my perspective shifted. I see life as a brief and sacred opportunity to live and love with intention, tend to emotional wounds, do what brings us joy, and create a world better than the one we have inherited.
